Calif., has received the 2010 Apartment
Career and Education Award (ACE)
Award from the National Apartment
Association Educational Institute (NAAEI). The award
recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of apartment career development and contributions made to, or
on behalf of NAAEI and its professional education interests and initiatives. The ACE Awards are awarded annually to volunteer leaders and professional educators.
Kathy vandegaer, Arm®, Cpm, was
named “Portfolio Supervisor of the
Year” by the Houston Apartment
Association (HAA) in June. She was
one of 27 supervisors nominated for
this top Industry Achievement Award
(IAA). Vandegear is an 18-year industry veteran with 90
percent or greater occupancy across her portfolio of 2,500
units. She has one of the lowest employee turnover rates
in her company, and many of her employees and cowork-ers call her “a true rock star,” the HAA said.
robert l. hendricks, Cpm, received the 2010 Gregory J.
West Real Estate Management Award from Peirce College.
Hendricks received the award during the College’s 145th Commencement in June at The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Hendricksgraduated with a Bachelor’sin Business Administration, Concentration in Real Estate Management. The award
recognizes a student who demonstrates outstanding academic performance in real estate management studies.
isaac W. northern, Jr., Cpm and 2003
Memphis Area Association of Realtors® (MAAR) president, was elected
to serve as chairman of the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. In 1972,
Northern founded NORTHERN, Inc.
in Memphis, Tenn. He has served as president of the
IREM Memphis Chapter No. 20.
Wrh realty Services, AmO®, deployed its second annual
Operation Overseas, a drive that recognizes soldiers
overseas for their courage, dedication and sacrifices. In
April and May 2010, Operation Overseas collected 1,375
drawings, homemade cards, notes and letters of encouragement from communities throughout the southeast and
Texas. Each of the WRH leasing offices were designated
drop off locations for the mementoes, which were then
sent to overseas military personal. This year’s drive collected 30 percent more letters and notes than last year.
